on Uxbridge High Street.
The cinema was closed in June 1982 and later demolished in September
1984. The site is now a gym.

arrive in Brighton.
Their luncheon appointment is at Clarges Hotel. Nowadays Clarges
Apartments. This place used to be owned by Dora Bryan; Nora in Carry On
Sergeant.

Pier.
This is the Palace Pier in Brighton. Although this now goes by the name of
the Brighton Pier, due to it's neighbour, the West Pier, being destroyed.

This is the only shot that still looks the same today as it did in 1971.
The old theatre on the pier has been removed, as have a lot of the old
buildings, to be replaced by a funfair. Indeed, the steps leading down to
the shooting gallery, seen on the right of the 'then' picture no longer
exist. This also goes some way to explain why they're aren't a great deal
of 'now' pictures of the pier - because it all looks so different!

The Piers Helter Skelter
This was badly scorched during a fire in 2005, in which the Ghost Train
was destroyed. There were rumours that it would be removed, but thankfully
it was restored and is still on the pier, although in a different
position.
